TEDx, x = independently organized event
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
TEDx at the University of Pittsburgh is an independent organization of TED Talks run by Pitt students who share the universal goal of empowering and inspiring individuals in the acquisition of knowledge.
We strive to inform, inspire, and connect the students of University of Pittsburgh’s main campus through the exchange of free knowledge in speeches provided by Pittsburgh’s best thinkers. In addition, we are passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion through the unison of different communities at our independently organized events.
Our organization pushes individuals to question how the world works and by engaging in insightful presentations on various topics, individuals are able to gain a new perspective.
WHAT IS TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
